Mercy Masala is a Greek Indian Queer fairy whose joy in life is making people feel connected through movement. Mercy began their dance journey at the age of 2 as an Indian classical dancer performing in the styles of Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. Mercy’s grandmother was a well-known Bollywood and Bharatanatyam choreographer in India. Her success provided the opportunity for her family to immigrate to the United States and open the first Indian dance school in Staten Island, New York. Mercy graduated in 4 different styles of Indian dance and eventually became lead teacher/choregrapher within her family's dance studio. She was also trained in ballet, jazz, and hip hop during her childhood years. 

During the day, Mercy is teaching Bollywood and Indian classical dance to youth in several different NYC middle schools and high schools. Mercy is also a licensed social worker, educator, adolescent trauma counselor, and published academic researcher (#SmarSluts) During the night, Mercy is gogo dancing and performing burlesque numbers incorporating elements of vogue, belly dancing, and bollywood. This fairy is here to be living proof that you can be whoever and whatever you want in life…..all while shaking your booty for some COIN ;)
